About Our Philanthropy:
The Gamma Beta chapter of Alpha Phi at the University of California, Santa Barbara is pleased to announce our 12th annual Red Dress Ball on February 3rd at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort in downtown Santa Barbara. Our Red Dress Ball is a philanthropic event with a sit-down dinner featuring live entertainment, dancing, a silent auction, and live auction. All proceeds from Red Dress ball go directly to the Alpha Phi Foundation, the nonprofit philanthropic partner of Alpha Phi International Fraternity. The Foundation is dedicated to empowering women and focuses its support on women’s heart health. The Alpha Phi Foundation funds programs that advance leadership development, encourage academic excellence, improve women’s heart health, support sisters in need, preserve heritage and educate about the value of philanthropy. In the United States, cardiovascular diseases and stroke cause 1 in 4 women’s deaths each year. To put that in perspective, that is approximately one woman in the US, every 80 seconds. It is important to us as women, and members of an organization that cares deeply about philanthropy and service, to help fight the number one killer of women in North America. Through raising awareness of the severity of the disease and its causes, as well as raising money for research, Alpha Phi’s work hard for women’s cardiac care internationally.
